The Ba'

In the Scottish town of Kirkwall everything revolves around the 1st of January. On that day the village is divided into two camps: the Uppies and the Doonies, the fishermen and the farmers. They play the traditional Ba’-game, a street rugby match without rules, no referee and no set time. The streets of Kirkwall change into a war zone where Up and Doon battle for victory and family pride. The Ba’ is a portrait of a unique island village in ecstasy..
